Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment

At Recruitment for Education (REd) we pride ourselves on our robust recruitment, selection and vetting process which every teacher undergoes before they start work in your school. We are members of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and fully comply with their Code of Conduct in Best Recruitment Practice which is vital for the safeguarding of children and young people. We adhere strictly to the specific recruitment and vetting checks, which must be made on all people who wish to work with children and young people, as outlined in the DfE document, “Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education.”

We complete the following vetting procedures for each of our teachers before they start work at your school:

  • Professional Interview with a senior teacher
  • Identity and address check
  • Reference checks
  • Employment history check
  • Up-to-date, valid CRB enhanced disclosure
  • Overseas Police Clearance, if applicable
  • ISA Barred List Check
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • GTCE registration check
  • Medical Health Check
  • Declaration of cautions / convictions obtained

The following services are also offered to our teachers:

  • Relocation assistance
  • Initial induction and training
  • Regular progress meetings with teacher and school

At Recruitment for Education (REd) we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all of our teachers, clients and employees to share this commitment.
